    The Thing about Resolutions

    Every year, everyone makes a resolution.

    Some follow through, while others don’t.  

    I knew I wasn’t going to follow all the resolutions I set out for myself, but I promised myself one important one:  TO FULLY SURRENDER TO GOD.

    In the beginning, it was so easy just to pray every single day and tell Him that I truly surrender at His will.  It was so easy feeling it too.  To be just wrapped around in His grace and mercy.  Isn’t that how everything is - so easy in the beginning?  But I guess as time moved on, I began to stray away from that… until I hit rock bottom again.  

    It’s funny how God makes these things happen.  Obstacles, Tribulations.  Just to remind us how much He loves us.  To remind us of the promises we made to ourselves and to Him.  

    So here is my promise again:  TO FULLY SURRENDER TO GOD… to offer up the good and the bad… to praise him when the sky is falling and the sun is shining.. to be down on my knees whether its in suffering or with gladness… because when He died on the Cross, His suffering was His gift to us.. and our surrendered life is our gift to Him.

    The things about resolutions, if you drop them, its never too late to pick them back up..
